Relax in the beautiful Australian bush
Set on 340 secluded acres of untouched bush land with its own fresh water dams.
Blessed by aboriginal elders and gifted in perpetuity, our property Mayumarri was chosen to ensure a safe space for survivors. Mayumarri was officially opened by the then Governor-General, Sir William Deane, in October 1999 and is set on 200 acres at Quorrobolong, near Cessnock in New South Wales, Australia. This is where Adult Programs are delivered. The land was named ‘Mayumarri’, an aboriginal word meaning ‘Peace’. In 1999 the main service building was built, with a large open plan lounge and dining area, a huge communal kitchen, pantry and cool room, dining area, and chapel – all with sweeping views across the dam and valley.
Over the years extra facilities have been added including a barn for workshops involving creative therapy. There are several shared accommodation cabins, each with its own bathroom. The cabins are situated around 20 metres from the main building. There are two balconies off each cabin. Cabins are furnished to provide guests with a homely, relaxed, comforting environment to wind down and enjoy the natural surrounds.
All beds are single beds and guests are requested to bring their own linen and towels and any bathroom supplies. We recommend one towel for the bathroom and one for swimming in the dam. Linen can be provided for a fee. Laundry facilities are not available so guests are asked to bring enough clothes and towels to last the week.
Hennessy House is situated in the southern section of the property on 120 acres of beautiful bush land and was opened by the Hon Tony Abbott, Minister for Health & Ageing, on March 13 2006. This is where our Teen Programs for young women and Kids Kamp are delivered.
The main building is spacious with a large front verandah that overlooks grassy fields with the Watagan mountain range in the distance. In the guests’ living space, there is a common sitting room, shared kitchen, large open plan dining and lounge room, and a laundry; 4 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There is wheelchair access throughout, and a large parking area.

Phillip House was opened in October 2010 by Mike Munro, for kids, young men and private guests. Three, self-contained one bedroom apartments are attached to the main building. Each apartment has a sitting room, kitchenette, full bathroom and can be configured as either one or two bedrooms. Each apartment has its own private outdoor seating area.
The main house has a huge open plan dining and sitting area, together with the large undercover space provided by the wide verandah. It has 5 large bedrooms. Each room has ceiling fans and wall mounted heaters. There is a games room with a pool table, table tennis table and badminton.
